HOW TO ENABLE/DISABLE JAVASCRIPT

The following instructions describe how to set JavaScript options for:

Mozilla, Mozilla FireFox, Opera, Safari, Explorer, Netscape, and AOL browsers

Mozilla 1.X

Open Mozilla.
Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
Click the arrow next to Advanced.
Click Scripts & Plugins.
Check Navigator beneath "Enable Javascript for".
Click OK.
Click Reload.

Mozilla FireFox

Open Mozilla.
Select Tools
Click Options.
Click Web Features.
Click Enable Java.
Click Enable JavaScript.
Click Reload.

Opera 5.X

Open Opera.
Select Quick Preferences from the File menu.
Make sure Enable Javascript is checked.
Click Reload.

Opera 7.X

Open Opera.
Select Quick Preferences from the File menu.
Make sure Enable Javascript is checked.
Click Reload.

Safari Public Beta 2 for MACOSX

Open Safari.
Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
Click Security.
Check both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
Close the window.
Click Reload.

Internet Explorer 3.X

Select Options from the View menu.
Click Security.
Check Enable Java Programs.
Click OK.
Click Reload.

Internet Explorer 4.X

Select Internet Options from the View menu.
Click the Security tab.
Click Custom.
Click Settings.
Scroll down to locate Scripting.
Click Enable for Active Scripting.
Click OK.
Click Reload.

Internet Explorer 5-6.X

Open Internet Explorer.
Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
Click Custom level button at bottom. The Security Settings dialog box will pop up.
Under Scripting category enable Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script and Scripting of Java applets
Click OK twice to close out.
Hit Refresh.

Internet Explorer 5.X for MACOSX

Open Internet Explorer.
Select Preferences from the Explorer menu.
Click the arrow next to Web Browser.
Click Web Content.
Under Active Content check Enable Scripting.
Click OK.
Click Refresh.

Internet Explorer 5 for MACOS9

Open Internet Explorer.
Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
Click the arrow next to Web Browser.
Click Web Content.
Under Active Content check Enable Scripting.
Click OK.
Click Refresh.

Internet Explorer 6.X

Open Internet Explorer.
Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
Click Custom level button at bottom. The Security settings dialog box will pop up.
Under Scripting category enable Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script and Scripting of Java applets
Click OK twice to close out.
Hit Refresh.

Netscape 3.X

Select Options from the Edit menu.
Click Network Preferences.
Click Languages.
Check both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
Click OK.
Click Reload.

Netscape 4.X

Open Netscape.
Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
Click Advanced.
Check both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript
Click OK.
Click Reload.

Netscape 4.X for MACOS9

Open Netscape.
Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
Click Advanced.
Check both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript
Click OK.
Click Reload.

Netscape 6.X for MACOSX

Open Netscape.
Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
Click Advanced
Check both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript for Navigator
Click OK.
Click Reload.

Netscape 7.X

Open Netscape.
Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
Click the arrow next to Advanced.
Click Scripts & Plugins.
Check Navigator beneath "Enable Javascript for".
Click OK.
Click Reload.

AOL 3.0

Click Prefs.
Click Security.
Check Enable Java Programs, if the box is blank, single click on it.
Click OK .
Click the browser's back button, once back, click reload.

AOL 4.0 and 5.0

Click My AOL.
Click Preferences.
Click WWW.
Click the Secutity tab.
Click Custom.
Click Settings.
Scroll down to locate Scripting.
Click Enable for Active Scripting.
Click OK, then click the Reload button.

AOL 8.0 and 9.0

Click Settings
Click Preferences
Click Internet or Internet Properties
Click Security Tab > Custom Level
Click Scripting
Click Active Scripting =Enable

Note to AOL 4.0 & 5.0 users

When using the use AOL browser, you may get a Javascript error but, when using an external browser (i.e., Netscape or Internet Explorer) this does not occur. AOL uses compressed graphics by Default. This doesn't allow Java to work while browsing inside AOL. (Additionally, this makes photos you view on web pages look less than optimal.)

Do the following:

Click My AOL.
Click Preferences.
Click the WWW icon.
Click Web Graphics tab.
Uncheck the box next to Use Compressed Graphics.
Click OK Restart the computer.

Note that there are both 16-bit and 32-bit versions of AOL 4.0. Only the 32-bit version has full Java capabilites.

Scaling Amdent’s scaling tips are available in a large variety of designs so as to remove tartar and calculus on all of a tooth’s surfaces. The ranges includes tips for both supragingival and subgingival scaling. Different models are available in both left-angle and right-angle versions to further enable access to furcations. The assortment is divided into Heavy calculus removal, Universal, Periodontics and Implant scaling.

Heavy calculus removal


	Tip PE-31 is used for lingual, buccal and approximal supragingival scaling. Recommended for removal of gross calculus. Recommended power setting: 10-50%. Amdent article number: 5266711


	Tip PE-32 is used for lingual and buccal supragingival scaling. Recommended for removal of gross calculus. Recommended power setting: 10-100%.


	Tip PE-39 is used for lingual and buccal supragingival scaling. It is one of Amdent’s most popular tips and is used for the removal of heavy calculus. Recommended power setting: 10-70%.

Universal


	Tip PE-37 has a wide range of uses and can be used for both supragingival and subgingival treatments. The slim tip reaches easily into deep pockets and can also be used for furcations. Recommended power setting: 10-70%.

Tip PE-37L has the same shape as Tip 37 but the extremity of the tip is angled to the left to enable better access to furcations.

Recommeded power setting:

10-50%.


	Tip PE-37R has the same shape as Tip 37 but the extremity of the tip is angled to the right to enable better access to furcations. Recommended power setting: 10-50%.

Periodontics


	Tip PE-33 is designed for subgingival scaling and can also be used on furcations. Recommended power setting: 10-70%.


	Tip PE-33L has the same shape as Tip 33 but the extremity of the tip is angled to the left to enable better access to furcations. Recommended power setting: 10-70%.


	Tip PE-33R has the same shape as Tip 33 but the extremity of the tip is angled to the right to enable better access to furcations. Recommended power setting: 10-70%.


	Tip PE-38 is even longer than tip 33 and has the same ergonomic design as tip 37. It is primarily used for subgingival scaling but can also be used for light supragingival scaling. Both for lingual and buccal use. Recommended power setting: 10-70%.


	Tip PE-38L has the same shape as tip 38 but the extremity of the tip is angled to the left to enable better access to furcations. Recommended power setting: 10-50%.


	Tip PE-38R has the same shape as tip 38 but the extremity of the tip is angled to the right to enable better access to furcations. Recommended power setting: 10-50%.

Implant scaling


	Tip IM-1 is used on implants for removal of calculus on fixtures, abutments and crowns. The tip is coated with PEEK material so as not to damage or color the implant. It is used together with the instrument holders FH-4 and FH-5. Recommended power setting: 10-50%.


	Tip IM-2 has the same design as IM-1, but the outermost part of the tip is angled at 130 degrees to ease access to difficult-to-reach surfaces. It is used together with the instrument holders FH-4 and FH-5. Recommended power setting: 10-50%.
