Endodontics

EndodonticsUltrasonic tips can be utilised in many areas in endodontics. Amdent’s tips are truly excellent for work in the pulp chamber, canal preparation and removal of broken instruments. There are also a wide variety of file and instrument holders.

Pulp chamber

EN-1

Tip EN-1 is designed with a little ball at one end and is used for removing posts. The tip is placed against the post and then moved in a circular fashion to remove the post. Length: 17 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-50% with endo function and 10-25% without endo function.

EN-2

Tip EN-2 has a flat and round diamond-coated surface on the tip and is used for removing pulp stones in the pulp chamber. Compared to rotating instruments the risk of perforating the tooth is small. Length: 17 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-50% with endo function and 10-25% without endo function.

EN-3

Tip EN-3 is a conical and diamond-coated tip primarily used in the pulp chamber for removing pulp stones, dentin and old fillings. Length: 17 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-50% with endo function and 10-25% without endo function.

EN-4

Tip EN-4 is a round tip used in pulp chambers. With its diamond-coating it removes dentin, improves reach and opens up pulp chambers. It can also go deeper to find hidden orifices. Length: 16 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-50% with endo function and 10-25% without endo function.

Canal preparation

EN-5

Tip EN-5 is used in the coronal and apical part of root canals. Amongst other things the tip can be used to remove posts, widen calcified canals, remove hard fillings, remove broken instruments and other obstacles in the root canal. Length: 17 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-30% with endo function and 10-15% without endo function.

EN-6

Tip EN-6 is primarily used in the coronal area of the root canal to trephine around posts. The water supply is placed at the furthest extremity of the tip for increased rinsing and cooling of the treated area. Length: 19 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-30% with endo function and 10-15% without endo function.

EN-7

Tip EN-7 has the same shape as Tip EN-5 and the same areas of use. The difference is that it is 2 mm longer and measures in total 19 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-30% with endo function and 10-15% without endo function.

EN-8

Tip EN-8 has the same shape as Tip EN-5 and the same area of use. The difference is that EN-8 is 7 mm longer and measures in total 24 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-30% with endo function and 10-15% without endo function.

Removal of broken instruments

EN-9

Tip EN-9 is made of titanium and has no diamond-coating. The small diameter makes it suitable for use in the apical part of root canals and its primary area of use is to isolate and remove broken instruments. Even broken instruments that are firmly stuck in the apical part of the root can often be removed by ultrasonic vibrations. EN-9 is recommended to be only used in combination with a microscope. Length: 20 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-30% with endo function and 10-15% without endo function.

EN-10

Tip EN-10 has the same shape and area of use as EN-9 but is a further 4 mm long, giving a total length of 24 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-30% with endo function and 10-15% without endo function.

EN-11

Tip EN-11 has the same shape and area of use as EN-9 but is a further 7 mm long, giving a total length of 27 mm.

Recommended power setting: 10-30% with endo function and 10-15% without endo function.

File and instrument holders

FH1

Tip FH-1 is a holder for hand files. By using the hand file in a fluid-filled root canal the ultrasonic vibrations cleans the canal very efficiently. The resulting cavitation effect gives a proven high degree of cleanliness. The file holder is at a 70° angle.

Recommended power setting: 10-50% with endo function and 10-30% without endo function.

FH2

Tip FH-2 has the same shape and area of use as FH-1 however it has an 90° angle instead.

Recommended power setting: 10-50% with endo function and 10-30% without endo function.

FH3

Tip FH-3 has the same shape and area of use as FH-1 with the addition of a 110° angle instead.

Recommended power setting: 10-50% with endo function and 10-30% without endo function.

FH4

Tip IH-1 is a holder for files and instruments with a diameter of 0.8 mm. By using a file in a fluid-filled root canal the ultrasonic vibrations clean the canal very efficiently. The resulting cavitation effect gives a proven high degree of cleanliness. FH-4 can also be used with Amdent’s implant tips and AP-tips. FH-4 is at an angle of 120°.

Recommended power setting: 10-100% with endo function and 10-50% without endo function.

FH5

Tip IH-2 has the same shape and area of use as FH-4 but at an angle of 90° instead.

Recommended power setting: 10-100% with endo function and 10-50% without endo function.
